As a Government Linked Company, a listed entity and a major player in Malaysia’s marine, defence and security sectors, BHIC is very much aware of its responsibility to conduct its business in a sustainable manner for its own benefit and for the interest of its stakeholders and the economy, environment and society in which it operates.
We recognise that our operations have direct and indirect impacts on our stakeholders and the economy, environment and society. In this regard, we strive to ensure the sustainability of our business by upholding our core values of Belonging, Honour, Integrity and Commitment by creating value to our stakeholders. By extension of this commitment, we endeavour to contribute towards developing the economy and a more equitable society while playing a part in the preservation and sustainability of the environment.
We are guided in our sustainability agenda by our Sustainability Policy which embeds economic, environmental and social (EES) principles into our entire value chain. Underscoring our commitment in promoting the sustainability agenda, we constantly take the effort to inculcate awareness amongst our personnel to understand the principles importance of sustainability, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Development Programme, and increase awareness of how they can play a role in driving change for the better,. In addition, we also carry out initiatives and programmes to promote sustainability in the economy, environment and society.
